History

The first Sugar Factory with an installed capacity of 300 TCD was set up in Pilibhit in 1909 by the firm of Raja Lalta Prasad-Sahu Hari Prasad under the name of M/s L.H. Brothers. In 1928 a complete sugar plant of George Fletcher Make of 650 TCD capacity was purchased from Baramati and was installed in Pilibhit at different site from the first plant. In 1933, a Private Limited Company with an initial Capital of Rs.30 lacs under the name & style of M/s L.H. Sugar Factories & Oil Mill Pvt. Ltd. took over the above business and the capacity of plant was raised to 1300 TCD. In subsequent years, the capacity of plant was increased from 1300 TCD to 2200 TCD.

A modernization-cum-expansion programme was implemented beginning in the year 1990 and which was completed in the year 1993. The capacity of the plant was increased from 2200 TCD to 2500 TCD. The Govt. of India issued a Letter of Intent (LOI) for expansion of the factory from 2500 TCD to 5000 TCD in September, 1996 and in pursuance to the above the Company continued the programme of additions & alterations and modernization to increase its crush rate and now it is totally a modernized plant and it has capacity of 12500 TCD. We have also installed Cogeneration Plant and it has been operating since season 2005-06 and we export upto 22 MW power to UPPCL The Paid-up Capital was also increased from time to time and at present the paid-up capital of the Company is Rs.1620 Lacs. Further we have commissioned 60 KLPD Ethanol plant at 8 Km away from our existing sugar factory. The Ethanol Plant is in operation from 23/05/2018 and it is being expanded to 160 KLPD and will be completed in March 2021.

The Company is closely held Company and its shares are not listed on any exchange though it is professionally managed Company and being looked after by Board of Directors. The Board of Directors comprises of independent Directors. The Board of Directors is assisted by key personnel who are expert in their fields.

The Company is contributing to Govt. scheme by way of GST, Income Tax & other State taxes. A large number of growers say about 97000 are associated with the Company. The Company is engaged in the growth of the economy of the country as well as local area and is contributing the same through above ways.
